Herman Slomovitz was enumerated with Jacob Slomovitz on the census of 2 April 1930 at 20 West South Street, Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania, as Herman Slomovitz. Listed as 11 years old, single. Born in Pennsylvania whereas his mother and father were born in Austria. Not employed.1
Herman enlisted as a Private in the Army Signal Corps from 1 August 1941 until the end of World War II. He enlisted at Camp Lee, Virginia from Luzerne County, Pennsylvania. His Army serial number was 33073105. His service record shows him as single, being born in 1918, having three years of high school with a civilian occupation of "gas and oil man".4 He Was a salesman in a childrens clothing store.5

Herman married Arlene Rose Prutzman, daughter of Ervin Prutzman and Rosalia Casterline.5 He died in February 1961 at age 42.3
