     Freida Slomovitz was born in 1884 at Ohornniczo.²

Freida married Jacob Slomovitz, son of David Slomovitz, in 1905.¹ She and Jacob Slomovitz could not be found in the New York City Directory or the 1907-1908 Telephone Directory from 1907 to 1911. From his passport application it appears they moved to Wilkes Barre, PA in 1910. But they also did not appear in the 1910-1911 Wilkes Barre City Directory.^3,4,5

Freida arrived as an immigrant aboard the SS Ryndam from Rotterdam with Esther Slomovitz on 26 August 1907. She was listed as "Frida" Slomovitz, a Hebrew, married female, age 23 with no occupation. Height 4 feet, 11inches. She is unable to read or write. She was born in Ohornniczo, Hungary. Her last residence was Szlatina, Hungary. Her passage was paid for by her husband and her final destination is New York, New York to join her husband Jake Slomovitz at 223 Rivington Street. She has $5 in her possesion.²

Freida and arrived as immigrants aboard the SS Ryndam from Rotterdam on 26 August 1907. She was listed as "Eszti" Slomovitz, a single female, age 3 months. Her last residence was Szlatina, Hungary.²



Freida Slomovitz was enumerated with Jacob Slomovitz on the census of 6 January 1920 at 78 1/2 North Sherman Street, Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania, as Freida Slumovitz. Listed as 34 years old, married. Born in Hungary as were her mother and father. Immigated in 1908, speaking Jewish in her prior home, and was naturalized in 1914 and able to speak English. Not employed.⁶
She returned from European travel on the SS Leviathan departing from Cherbourg, France on 16 August 1926 to New York, New York.⁷ She lived with Jacob Slomovitz in 1927 at 20 West South Street, Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania. He was listed as in real estate.⁸

Freida Slomovitz was enumerated with Jacob Slomovitz on the census of 2 April 1930 at Wilkes Barre as Freida Slomovitz. Listed as 42 years old, married at 17 years old. Born in Austria as were her mother and father. Immigated in 1907, speaking Hungarian in her prior home, and is naturalized and able to speak English. Not employed.¹
She lived with Jacob Slomovitz in 1931 at Wilkes Barre. He was listed as in real estate.⁹ She lived with Jacob Slomovitz in 1933 at 129 South Grant Street, Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania. Jacob is listed as selling cigars at 171 South Main Street.¹⁰ She lived with Jacob Slomovitz in 1935 at Wilkes Barre. Jacob is listed as liquor retailer at 99 East Northampton Street. This residence is within one mile of the residence of 1925.¹¹
