     Pearl Annie Miles was born on 31 July 1884, daughter of William R. Miles and Maria Dana.¹ [Witness] lived with William R. Miles and Maria Miles and Ernest Albert Miles, Maria Margarita Miles, George Dana Miles and Robert William Miles in 1896 at at Milpas Street between Figueroa & Carrillo Streets, Santa Barbara, California. The city directory lists him as an architect. The directory does not list woment or children so only the youngest are included here.³

Pearl Annie Miles was enumerated with William R. Miles on the census of 12 June 1900 at 1045 Milpas Street, Santa Barbara, California, as Pearl A. Miles. 15 years old, born in July, 1884 in California whereas her mother was born in Illinois and her father in Vermont, attending school, can read write and speak English.⁴


Pearl married Edward Ames McCauley, son of John Strange McCauley and Mary Onins, circa December 1904 at California.⁵ Her married name was McCauley.⁶

Pearl Annie McCauley was enumerated with Edward Ames McCauley on the census of 25 April 1910 at 2519 South Truesdell Ct, Los Angeles, California, as Pearl McCauley. Listed as 25 years old, married for five years, bore one living child, born in California her mother in Wisconsin and her father in Vermont. Not employed.⁷
She and Edward Ames McCauley lived at 1131 East Maple Street, Glendale, California from 1920 to 1942 with George Edward McCauley.
