     Marie Evelyn Granich was born on 27 May 1919 at Chicago, Illinois, daughter of Philip Martin Granich and Zora Granich.1

Marie Evelyn Granich was enumerated with Philip Martin Granich on the census of 31 January 1920 at 10347 Avenue "H", Chicago, Illinois, as Marie Granich. Marie was listed as two months old, born in Illinois with her mother and father born in Dalmatia, occupation 'none'.2

Marie Evelyn Granich was enumerated with Philip Martin Granich on the census of 10 April 1930 at 10633 Avenue "O", Chicago, Illinois, as Marie Granich. She was listed as a single white female, 10 years old, daughter of the Head of Household. She is shown as having mother and father born in Yugoslavia. She did attend school in the previous six months and can read, write and speak English.7
She gathered with the rest of the family with Philip Martin Granich and Zora Granich circa July 1942 at Chicago. Joey was about to leave for North Africa.8

Marie married Steven J. Drozda on 28 April 1946 at St Francis deSales Catholic Church, 102nd Street & Ewing Avenue, Chicago, Illinois.1 Her married name was Marie Drozda. At age 27, Marie became the mother of William P. Drozda on 26 November 1946 at Chicago.1 She was an attendee when Andrija Marasović and Ivanica Marasovich were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary with family members on 2 March 1947 at 10732 Avenue "O", Chicago, Illinois.9 At age 31, Marie became the mother of Steven Drozda Jr. on 16 April 1951 at Chicago.1 She gathered for the celebrateion of their 45th wedding anniversary with Philip Martin Granich and Zora Granich in 1963 at Rupcich Restaurant, 106th and Indianapolis Blvd, Chicago, Illinois. The party took place in the Rupcich restaurant on Indianapolis Boulevard and 106th Street.10 On 13 March 1987 the property at 10633 Avenue 'O' owned by Phillip and Zora Granich was transferred in equal shares to their heirs Florence Waclawik, Marie Drozda, Dorothy Rupcich, Phyllis Leahy, Lois Marciniak, Carol Bender and Genevieve Rassel. The fair market value of the property was declared to be $45,000.11 On 20 March 1987 the property at 10633 Avenue 'O' owned by the heirs of Phillip and Zora Granich (Florence Waclawik, Marie Drozda, Dorothy Rupcich, Phyllis Leahy, Lois Marciniak, Carol Bender and Genevieve Rassel) was transferred to Jose L. and Mae B. Reyes for an undisclosed amount of money.12 She and Steven J. Drozda were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on 5 May 1996.9 She attended celebration of sister Genevieve's 71st birthday with Genevieve A. Rassel on 31 July 1996. Attendees included sister Dorothy Rupcich and daughter Cathy Heidbreder.13 She died of thyroid cancer on 25 September 2003 at Lansing, Illinois, at age 84.14,13 Marie's obituary appeared in the Hammond Times on 27 September 2003.15 She was buried on 29 September 2003 in the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery located in Calumet City, Illinois.9
