Listed as 18 years old, the brother-in-law of the head of the household - Fred Bowen, single. Born in Michigan whereas his mother and father were born in French Canada. Occupation is laborer in a lumber mill. Is able to read, write and speak English.5


Mose married Zoe Gingras in 1911.6,7 He registered for the World War One draft on 5 June 1917 at 281 Lake Street, Muskegon, Michigan. He gave his name as Mose Louis LaFave and his birthday as 6 May 1891 in Lake Lillian, Michigan. He is a natural born citizen. He works as a laborer for a paper mill in Muskegon, Michigan. He claims exemption from the draft because he supports his wife and child.3

Mose Louis LaFave is shown as head of household on the US census of 6 January 1920 at 86 Estes Street, Muskegon, Michigan, as Mose LaFave. Listed as 28 years old, owner of home without a mortgage, married, has not attended school since last September, born in Michigan whereas his father and mother were born in Canada speaking French, he can read, write and speak English, is a house contractor who owns his own business. Enumerated with the head of household was/were Edward LaFave, Ernest E. LaFave, Virginia LaFave, Pearl Mary Gould and George LaFave.6
He and Pearl Mary Gould lived circa 1948 at 315 Graham, Grand Rapids, Michigan, with Pearl May LaFave.1 He lived at 541 Turner Avenue NW, Grand Rapids, Michigan 1957.9 He died on 3 August 1957 at Grand Rapids, Michigan, at age 66.2 He was buried on 7 August 1957 in the Resurrection Cemetery located in Wyoming, Michigan.9
