Charles married Maude M. Mercer, daughter of Alfred Thomas Mercer and Mary Elizabeth Thompson.9 He was working in auto mechanics from 1921 to 1931 at Grand Rapids, Michigan.10 He and Maude M. Mercer lived at 1081 Terrace, Muskegon, Michigan 1928. Listed as an auto mechanic at the Houston Avenue Vulcanizing Company.11 He and Maude M. Mercer lived at 297 Amity Avenue, Muskegon, Michigan 1932. Listed as a brake mechanic.12 As of 1936, Charles E. Gould also went by the name of Chas Gould He signed his Social Security Application by this name and was also known this way by relatives.5,9 He lived in November 1936 at Muskegon. The funeral was conducted from the Sytsema Funeral Home at 737 Apple Avenue of Muskegon.13
