     Celia Ann Morley was born on 5 November 1895 at Province of Connaught, daughter of John Morley and Mary Hughes Morley. The SSDI has birth of 9 November 1895.1,2

Celia at age 20 arrived as an immigrant aboard the SS Philadelphia sailing from Liverpool on 11 June 1916 at Ellis Island, New York, New York. She's listed as 19 years old, single female domestic, able to read and write, from Grallagli, Ireland. Nearest relative in Ireland is mother M Morley of Grallagli, County Mayo. Celia is on the way to be with her sister Agnes Morley, who paid her ship passage, in Chicago, Illinois at 3978 Rake Avenue. She has $50 in her possession. Celia is listed as having been born in Grallagli and is five feet five inches tall with fair hair and complexion with blue eyes and no marks of identification. She has not been in the United States previously.3

Celia Ann Morley was on the census of 12 January 1920 at 5103 Ellis Avenue, Chicago, Illinois, as Celia Morley. Listed as 23 years old, single, born in Ireland as was her mother and father, she can speak English, her occupation is as a live-in servant for the private family of Alfred Oppenheimer.4


Celia married Michael Joseph Quirke, son of Patrick Quirke and Mary Quirke, on 2 May 1923 at Holy Name Cathedral, Chicago, Illinois.1 As of 2 May 1923,her married name was Quirke.1 At age 28, Celia became the mother of Mary Cecile Quirke on 10 March 1924. At age 31, Celia became the mother of Eileen Therese Quirke on 30 September 1927. At age 33, Celia became the mother of Kieren Therese Quirke on 13 September 1929.

Celia Ann Morley was enumerated with Michael Joseph Quirke on the census of 7 April 1930 at 6919 Wabash Avenue, Chicago, Illinois, as Cecilia A. Quirke. Listed as 33 years old, first married at age 26 years, born in Irish Free State, father born in Irish Free State, mother born in Irish Free State, can read and write and speak English, native language is English. Immigrated in 1905, naturalization petition applied for, occupation is 'none'.5
At age 37, Celia became the mother of John Quirke on 6 August 1933. At age 38, Celia became the mother of Loretta Margret Quirke on 2 November 1934 at Chicago, Illinois. She attended the marriage of Eileen Therese Quirke and John Linden on 2 September 1950.1 She attended the marriage of Donna Jean Radja and John Quirke on 11 October 1958 at St Francis deSales Catholic Church, 102nd Street & Ewing Avenue, Chicago, Illinois. She attended the marriage of Jeanne Scott and Thomas Gregory Radja on 21 August 1967 at First Congregational Church, 1047 Curtiss Street, Downers Grove, Illinois.6 During her lifetime, Celia did not apply for US citizenship (naturalization).1 She died on 31 August 1978 at Chicago at age 82.1 She was buried on 3 September 1978 in the St Mary's Catholic Cemetery located in Evergreen Park, Illinois.7
