Michael Joseph Quirke was born on 11 June 1883 at Newcastlewest, Province of Munster, son of
Patrick Quirke and
Mary Quirke.
1,2,3 Michael at age 24 arrived as an immigrant aboard the SS Saxonia on 26 September 1907 at Boston, Massachusetts. This was a return trip to Lowell, Massachusetts to be with his brother Joseph Quirke at 1040 Bridge Street. It appears that he left Lowell in 1907 for Ireland, returning the same year. While in Ireland, Michael was with his father, Patrick Quirke, in Newcastlewest, County Limerick. On the passenger list, he is cited as height five foot six inches with black hair and grey eyes.
