     Aaron Carter Perkins Sr. was born on 28 October 1913 at Sykesville, Maryland, son of William Carter Perkins and Amanda L. Austin.2,1,4

Aaron Carter Perkins Sr. was enumerated with William Carter Perkins on the census of 7 January 1920 at a farm, Whiterock Road, Barrett District, Maryland, as Aaron C. Perkins. Listed as a mulatto, 6 years old, born in Maryland, father born in Virginia, mother born in Maryland, attending school, cannot read and write but can speak English. Not employed.5


Aaron Carter Perkins Sr. was enumerated with William Carter Perkins on the census of 19 April 1930 at Barrett District, Maryland, as Aaron C. Perkins. Listed as 16 years old, born in Maryland, father born in Virginia, mother born in Maryland, can read and write and speak English. Employed as a farmer on a general farm.6
He was employed by Grover C. Lyons on 26 March 1938 at Sykesville This was his initial date of employment by Lyons.2 He entered service in the US Army on 27 June 1941 at Maryland. He left service on 26 November 1945. His Army Serial Number was: 33 063 436.7,4 He reenlisted in the Regular Army on 23 February 1946 at Fort George G. Meade, Maryland. He was enlisted as a Staff Sergeant in the Quartermaster Corps. He was shown as a resident of Carroll County, Maryland, married with a grammar school education. He was discharged on 16 October 1952 at Ft George G. Meade, Maryland. During his service he was awarded the following decorations: World War II Victory Medal, Service Lapel Button WWII, Asiatic Pacific Theater Campaign Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. His assignments included Camp Kilmer New Jersey, Fort Dix New Jersey, Camp Edwards Massachucetts, and Camp Stewart Georgia.7,8

Aaron married Margaret Inez Dotson.9,1 He lived at 1804 Sams Creek Road, Westminster, Maryland 2004.1 He died of cancer on 23 July 2004 at Casey House Hospice, 1355 Piccard Drive, Rockville, Maryland, at age 90.1 Aaron's obituary appeared in the Baltimore Sun, Page 5B, on 27 July 2004.9 He was buried on 27 July 2004 in the Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery located in Owings Mills, Maryland. The gravesite is at Section M-6, Row 13, Site 8.4,1
