Aaron C. Perkins Sr., a retired postal worker and World War II veteran, died of complications from prostate disease Friday at Casey House, a Rockville hospice. The longtime Westminster resident was 90. Mr. Perkins was born and raised in Sykesville, and attended White Rock School, a segregated Carroll County public school. He enlisted in the Army in 1934 and served as a supply sergeant in Europe and the Pacific during World War II. He worked at the Westminster post office for 25 years until retiring in 1978. Mr. Perkins enjoyed reading, working around his home and visiting family and friends. He was married for 56 years to the former Margaret Inez Dotson, who died in 2000. Mr. Perkins was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church, Old Liberty and Roop roads, Taylorsville, where services will be held at 11 a.m. today. Mr. Perkins is survived by four sons, Aaron C. Perkins Jr. of Randallstown, Larry Perkins of Arizona, Terry Perkins of Rockville and Wayne Perkins of Westminster; a daughter, Jacqueline A. Dorsey of Damascus; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
