     Rex A. Leak was born on 3 November 1913 at Newark, Ohio, son of Alva V. Leak and Augusta V. Leak.1

Rex A. Leak was enumerated with Alva V. Leak on the census of 5 January 1920 at 144 Linden Avenue, Newark Township, Ohio, as Rex A. Leak. Listed as 6 years old, born in Ohio as were his father whereas his mother was born in Pennsylvania.2


Rex A. Leak was enumerated with Alva V. Leak on the census of 25 April 1930 at Newark Township, Ohio, as Rex A. Leak. Shown as 16 years old, single, born in Ohio as was his father and mother was born in Pennsylvania, not employed.3
Rex enlisted as a Private in the Army from 5 February 1942 until the end of World War II. He enlisted at Fort Hayes, Columbus, Ohio from Franklin County Ohio. His Army serial number was 15075172. His enlistment record shows him as single, being born in 1913 in Ohio, having three years of college. His civilian occupation is given as machinist. His death certificate indicated that he served in the armed forces.4,1 He was employed in the collection department of the Central National Bank at Cleveland, Ohio.1

Rex married Margaret Bernice Corwin, daughter of John Francis Corwin and Ora Emma McGimsey, in 1972 at Cleveland.5,1 Rex was a Roman Catholic. He ran and owned a market in Cleveland then went into banking and loan collecting.5 He and Margaret Leak lived at 5869 West 224th Street, Fairview Park, Ohio 1993.1 He died of coagulopathy due to hepatic cirrhosis from many years of alchohol abuse on 22 September 1994 at Fairview General Hospital, Cleveland, Ohio, at age 80.1 He was buried in the Sunset Memorial Park located in North Olmstead, Ohio. Burial services were performed by the Chambers Funeral Homes of 4420 Rocky River Drive, Cleveland, OH.1,6
