     Helmar A Bartleson was born on 12 March 1909, son of Ingle Oscar Bartleson and Addine Ingebretson.1

Helmar married Florence A. Hegland on 8 September 1936 at White Earth, North Dakota.1 A biography of the Oscar Bartleson family appeared in the 'Tales of Mighty Mountrail' in 1979. This was written by Helmar Bartleson. The accompanying photo must be wrongly labled since it was Helmar's wife whose name was 'Florence'.3 He died on 15 April 1996 at Poulsbo, Washington, at age 87.2
