     Jacob Anton Bartleson was born on 4 November 1875 at Oppeneiet, Hadeland, son of Anders Bertelson and Ingeborg Gulbrandson.1,2

Jacob Anton Bartleson was enumerated with Carl Peter Bartleson on the census of 19 April 1910 at Minot, North Dakota, as Anton Bartleson. Listed as 34 years old, single, brother of Carl Bartleson, born in Norway as were his mother and father, immigrated in 1892, naturalized. Can read, write and speak English. Employed as a brick mason.2
He was a bricklayer.1 He registered for the World War One draft on 4 September 1918 at Jamestown, North Dakota. He gave his name as Anton J. Bartleson and his birthday as 4 November 1875 and his occupation as a farmer in Jamestown, Stutsman County. He declared that he is a natrualized citizen. He cited Mrs. Andrew Lee of Jamestown as his closest relative.3

Jacob Anton Bartleson was on the census of 7 February 1920 at Winfield, North Dakota, as Anton Bartleson. Listed as 44 years old, single, a boarder with Carl Lee, born in Norway as was his mother and father. Immigrated in 1890, natrualized in 1900. Able to read and write and speak English. Employed as a farmer.4
He died in February 1936 at Jamestown, North Dakota, at age 60.1
