Joseph was discharged from the Army due to an injury suffered in a tank circa 1941 at Fort Knox, Kentucky.1 He was buried in November 1999 in the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery located in Calumet City, Illinois.1
He died of Alzheimer's disease on 25 November 1999 at age 80.1,3
