Adolph married Frieda Amelia Karndt, daughter of Unknown Karndt and Unknown Karndt, in 1905.3,4 At age 26, Adolph became the father of Elizabeth (Lizzy) Strauss on 15 July 1906 at Rhode Island.5,6 At age 29, Adolph became the father of Walter Frederick Strauss in February 1910 at Rhode Island.4

Adolph Strauss is shown as head of household on the US census of 20 April 1910 at 18 Depot Avenue, Cranston Town, Rhode Island, as Adolph Strauss. Listed as 29 years old, renter, married for 5 years, shown as having immigrated in 1906 and naturalization petition applied for, born in Germany as was his mother and father, he can read, write and speak English, occupation is 'brewery worker', currently employed. Enumerated with the head of household was/were Frieda Amelia Karndt, Elizabeth (Lizzy) Strauss and Walter Frederick Strauss.7
He and Frieda Amelia Karndt lived at Cranston Town 1911. The directory shows Adolph as working in a brewer house.8 At age 34, Adolph became the father of Hilda Gertrude Strauss on 20 October 1914 at Pocasset Avenue, Johnston, Rhode Island.9 He and Frieda Amelia Karndt lived at Johnston 1914 with Walter Frederick Strauss, Elizabeth (Lizzy) Strauss and Hilda Gertrude Strauss.9 At age 38, Adolph became the father of Ernest Karl Strauss on 29 May 1918 at Rhode Island.1,10,6 He registered for the World War One draft on 12 September 1918 at 48 Huntington Avenue, Providence, Rhode Island. He gave his name as Adolph Strauss and his birthday as 12 May 1880. He is a naturalized citizen. His occupation is as a brewer for the Providence Brewing Company in Providence. He cites wife Frida Strauss of Providence as his closest relative.2

Listed as an owner with a mortgage, 39 years old, shown as having immigrated in 1906 and naturalized in 1911, born in Germany with German as his mother tongue as was his mother and father, he can read, write and speak English, occupation is 'wage worker brewer in a brewery'. Enumerated with the head of household was/were Frieda Amelia Karndt, Elizabeth (Lizzy) Strauss, Walter Frederick Strauss, Hilda Gertrude Strauss and Ernest Karl Strauss.10

Listed as 49 years old, owner of $7,000 home with a radio and does not live on a farm, married at age 25 years, has not attended school or college in last six months, shown as having immigrated in 1906 and is naturalized, born in Germany as was his mother and father, he can read, write and speak English, owns his own business as a butcher, not a veteran. Spoke German at home before immigrating. Enumerated with the head of household was/were Frieda Amelia Karndt, Walter Frederick Strauss, Ernest Karl Strauss and Hilda Gertrude Strauss.21
He attended the marriage of Hilda Gertrude Strauss and Robert Stuart Scott on 14 March 1942.3,22 He registered for the World War II draft in April 1942 at Providence. He registered as Adolf Strauss, shown as 61 years old, born in Saxony, Germany on 12 May 1880. He is currently employed by the Narragansett Brewing Company on Cranston Street in Providence, Rhode Island. Freida Strauss of his address is the person who will always know his address.23
