Ray married Emma Cooper, daughter of Luther Cooper and Ida Mae Kelly.³ He was employed with Consumers Power Company at Muskegon, Michigan.³ He and Emma Cooper lived at 816 Washington Avenue, Muskegon, Michigan 1975.³ He died of cancer of the lip on 23 May 1975 at Hackley Hospital, 1700 Clinton Street, Muskegon, Michigan, at age 80.³ He was buried on 27 May 1975 in the St. Mary's Cemetery located in Muskegon, Michigan. The funeral was conducted from the Young Funeral Home at 1102 Terrace Street of Muskegon.³
