Mahlon E. Casterline was enumerated with William Augustus Casterline on the census of 5 April 1930 at 37 South Marshall Street, Laurel Run Borough, Pennsylvania, as Malon Casterline. Listed as 22 years old, single, born in Pennsylvania as was his father and mother, he can read, write or speak English, not attended school the past six months, occupation is laborer in a steam railroad.⁵
He and Jacob Slomovitz names appeared on the Front Page of the Sunday Independent on 25 March 1934 at Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania. The article read in part: "Icy streets cause accidents: Jacob SLOMOVITZ, 54, 129 S. Grant St., Wilkes-Barre - auto accident. Mahlon CASTERLINE, 24, of 944 E. Market St. - auto accident."⁶ He died on 19 February 1984 at Pennsylvania at age 76.³ He was buried in the Fern Knoll Burial Park located in Dallas, Pennsylvania.³
