Olava married Jone Fossĺ, son of Haldor Fossaaen and Johanna Johnsdotter, on 30 December 1925 at Adams, North Dakota. Mrs. H. L. Stensland announces the marriage of her daughter Olava Berthine to Mr. John Fossaa Wednesday, December thirtieth nineteen hundred twenty-five Adams, N. Dak. (At home, about April 1st, White Earth, N. Dak.).1 Her married name was Fossĺ.1 She died in March 1956 at Grand Forks, North Dakota.2 She was buried Grand Forks.2 A biography of John and Olive appeared in the 'Burke County and White Earth Valley Historical Society' book in 1971.2
