Born in Pennsylvania as were his mother and father, spoken language English, can read and write. Not employed.3


Stewart married Ida H. Casterline.4 He registered for the World War One draft on 5 June 1917 at Noxen, Pennsylvania. He gave his name as Stewart Clarence Casterline age 24 years and his birthday as 22 September 1892 and his occupation as a clerk in a grocery store in Noxen, Pennsylvania. He is single and claims no prior military service and no draft exemptions.5

Stewart E. Casterline is shown as head of household on the US census of 27 January 1920 at Island Road, Noxen Township, Pennsylvania, as Stewart E. Casterline. Listed as 27 years old, married, renting his home. Born in Pennsylvania as were his mother and father, spoken language English, can read and write. Employed as a laborer in a tannery. Enumerated with the head of household was/were Ida H. Casterline.4
He registered for the World War II draft in April 1942 at 178 Courtdale Avenue, Pennsylvania. He is shown as 49 years old, born in Beaumont, Wyoming County, PA, on 22 September 1892. He is working for Moses Criffith of Shavertown Lumber Company in Shavertown, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania. Mrs. Ida Casterline, of his address, is the person who will always know his address.6 He died in April 1965 at Pennsylvania at age 72.2
