Walter May Walter's father was wealthy contractor in Chicago in the 1920s but lost it all during the Great Depression. Father's company built bridges along South Shore Drive in Chicago and many brick multi-story apartment buildings in Chicago. Walter left Gladys when Ronald was very young. May have married mulitple times. At time of death was in Japan apparently married to a Japanese named Yosho. Enlisted in the Army in 1939 and served during entire World War II in European theatre including North Africa. Discharged in 1945 'on points'. Later rejoined the Army and was discharged again in 1951 in Japan. Then ran an Army PX in Japan until death. May have been cremated and interred in Japan.
