Eli Serina Fossĺ was born on 1 November 1877 at Fossĺ, Hjelmeland, daughter of
Haldor Fossaaen and
Johanna Johnsdotter.
2 She was a seamstress, making men's clothing. She worked at Li (Fister) in Hjelmeland for several years. The heavy flatiron at Fossĺ belonged to her.
2 Eli arrived as an immigrant aboard an unknown vessel from Stavenger, Norwayl on 1 April 1910 at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. She lived at Edd's farm and never returned to Norway.

4 She filed a Declaration of Intention for Naturalization on 12 January 1944 at District Court, Stanley, North Dakota. She declared herself to be a single housekeeper residing in White Earth, Mountrail County.
3 She filed a Petition for Naturalization on 24 July 1946 at Stanley. Farmers Adolph Brenden and Olaf Ruden of White Earth, North Dakota signed an affidavit as to Eli's living in the US for the previous five years. Having taken the Oath of Allegiance, she was admitted to US citizenship on 23 August 1946 with Certificate 6389193.
5 She died on 5 February 1971 at Minot, North Dakota, at age 93.
