Anna Karina Haldorsdotter. He was Type: BirthAlt between 1745 and 1747. He was born in 1746 at Jelsa, son of
Lars Bjřrnson Jelsa and
Marta Larsdotter Barkeland. He was engaged on 3 May 1767. He was From 1768 he was an innkeeper at Solensteen gjestgjeveri in Hjelmelandsvĺgen, close to the church, when he bought 1/3 part of the inn. He paid 200 riksdaler for his part, half the money was borrowed from county court judge (sorenskriver) Barth in Knutsvik. The year after he borrowed another 60 rdlr for necessary goods and upkeep of the inn. Bailiff (fut) Garmann, master of Utstein (herren til U.) had tried a few years earlier to have the three inns of Hjelmeland moved to Kvalřy, well away from the church. He described them as 'chapels of Satan' responsible for the 'desecration of the Sabbath' by selling beer both before, during and after Sunday service. Between 1768 and 1782. He was 13 years later, in 1782, he sold his part in the inn and bought a quarter of the Kjřlvik sawmill, where he settled as master sawyer (sagmeister). The three quarters were bought by the wealthy farmer Johannes Ormson Bergeland. The price was 600 riksdaler. Kjřlvik was probably the oldest (it existed prior to 1566) and at one time the largest sawmill in Ryfylke. In 1782. He died after 1825.
