Donna Jean Quirke
Donna Jean Quirke, nee Radja, formerly of Chicago's East Side, Dolton and Apple River, IL, passed away on February 18, 2005, in her Lake Shore Drive apartment of brain cancer. Beloved wife of John, nurturing mother of Carol (Quinn Cushing) of Brooklyn, NY, Sharon (Phil Reece) of Belvidere, Michael of Bloomington and Sheila (Jeremy Hornik) of Chicago; cherished grandmother of Alex, Carolyn and Jakob Reece and awaiting a Hornik grandchild; dearest sister of James (Carol) Radja, Dolores (David) Frost and Thomas (Jeanne) Radja; fond sister-in-law of Sr. Mary Cecile, O.P., Sr. Kieran Therese, O.P., Mrs. Eileen Linden and Mrs. Loretta Cafarelli; aunt of twenty-eight nieces and nephews and cousin of many. Avid reader, she was a long time employee of the South Holland Library, where she was known to the patrons as the best advisor on the latest ''good read.'' After retirement, she volunteered at the library in Warren, IL. Visitation Monday 2 to 9 p.m. Funeral Tuesday, 9:30 a.m., from the Elmwood Chapel, 11200 S. Ewing Ave., Chicago, to St. Jude the Apostle Church. Mass 10:30 a.m. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
