Ogorje 6th of January 1938.
Dear brother and sister in law!
First, I can tell you that we are all in good health, thank God and we wish you the same. But we are not very happy, two Christmases have passed and we are still hoping to get a letter from you but all our hopes were in vain. I wrote three letters but no answer.
Dear brother and sister in law please forgive me if I have offended you in any of my letters. I am very worried why are you not writing and all kinds of thoughts come to my head, like what has happened to you, are you sick or you don’t care about us. I beg you to write as soon as possible about how are you and your children. As soon as I receive your letter, it will be easy for my heart and soul. Write don’t keep secrets even if they are terrible. God gives luck and health to every man and everybody has to be satisfied with it. Sister Jandra is sick, Ivan is well. Iva got married to Ivan Eleza Dujezina and she has a son, Marta and Ikan are well, Iva and Kata died, only Marija is alive. Sister Cvita and husband Andrija are well, cousin Jure and Filip divided last year. Ivan is in Split, Ante is in Belgrade. It is very cold here, nobody remembers winter this cold. Now receive greeting and kisses from all of us. Me your never forgotten brother and uncle Mate Rada.
