Dear brother!
First, I can tell you that we are well thank God. We are worried about you because we haven’t received any letter from you for nine months. And I wrote you two letters but no answer to any of the letters. Dear brother and sister in law I beg you to write to me immediately and tell me what is with you are you alive and well. How do you live, did you pay off the house, I am afraid that you don’t have a lot and you live in poverty because of unemployment problem. Newspapers here talk about that problem a lot, they are writing about three million unemployed workers.
Nothing new here, nothing that would interest you, the year was dry and weak and crops are bad. We had to get water in Vrbe for three weeks. Sisters and their families are well. Uncle Frano Medar died on eight of September this year and our aunt died. Her family is well, Ante is in Belgrade and Ivan is in Dugi rat near Split. Now receive greetings from all of us here, your sisters and their families, your cousins Jure and Filip and their families. And now from your never forgotten brother and uncle Mate
