Dear brother and sister in law!
First, I can tell you that we are all well thank God and we wish you the same. I received your letter on third of December and I understood what you wrote and after a long time this letter made me happy. You asked about our life here, we are living, we are not hungry, but we don’t have a lot. I receive my pension of 585 dinars once a month, sisters are living well. Aunt and her family are well, Filip and Jure are at home, Ante is in Belgrade, Ivan is sick, and he is in a hospital in Zagreb. Three of our uncles are in South America and they are writing that they are well. The rest of the family is at home and they are well. Aunt Marija died three years ago, Frano is still alive. Marko and Vinja got married, uncle Marjan is alive and his wife also. School was opened in our village on 15 of October this year. All children from our village go to school; four of our kids go there. Dear brother and sister in law I don’t have anything else to write about, we all wish you Merry Christmas may you spend it together for many more years. Receive greetings from your sisters and their families, aunt and her family. Write soon, bye your never forgotten brother and uncle Mate Radja
