Dear brother!
First, I can tell you that we are well thank God, but I have to tell you the sad news that Ante from Marta died on November 17 1928 and moved to the other world. Dear brother, I received your letter and a check for 40 dollars, I divided it according to your wishes, and everybody was happy. You asked about Jozo’s kids, he has four, three sons and a daughter. Jure is a tailor and when he does a good job, he doesn’t get paid. Filip is not working in a factory and nobody ours is at Betrica od Vagista only Mate Mijatov and Jakov Jokanov. Ivan is in Omis and Ante is in Split. We made the roof on the schoolhouse. Jandra is well as are her kids. Marta you can imagine how she is, Cvita is well her husband is always working somewhere so she is alone. Uncle is not well the rest are ok. Ante is now in South America but he didn’t write to anybody for two years now. Uncle Frano is well as he is always drunk, the rest of the family is also well. Anko Banic is at home he got married to Andjelija Biskupovu, she died last year and he is a widower now. I am still holding up, but if the next year will be like this one I will go bankrupt. I have two oxes one cow, two donkeys and thirty sheep. Filip has two kids, Jure four. Cvita got married to Luketin from Svilaja. What else is new, you can go now to Split every day from Vrba with a car and you can get back the same day. There are eight cars now in Muc Jozo and Mate Radkovic have three, Didic has three and Duje Delic has two, they are driving around like in New York. Dear brother nothing else is new receive a brotherly greeting. Mother is also saying hi. Now receive greetings from your brother, sister in law and nephew and from sisters and brothers in law, aunt and her family. Anko Banic is also saying hi and all our family.
