Dear brother!
First I can tell you that we are all in pretty good health, only for the last ten days I had headache so I couldn’t write you a letter. I received your letter on 8 April on Easter and in it a check for 20 dollars, which you sent to mother and 2 dollar bills for me. I understood everything you wrote. Here you could live and do nothing with 5000 dinars. There is enough girls here you could get married. This year was bad, wheat expensive, animals were cheap, hay is 3 dinars, 1 kilo of slama (don’t know what that is) 1.95 dinars. The time is to plough. I am still running a store, I got rid of the most but no payment, and I will leave this business if the next year will not be better.
Sisters are all well, Ante from Marta is in the army in Mostar. Nothing else is new. Receive a greeting from your mother, your brother, sister in law, nephew and sisters. With respect your brother Mate. Say hi to Nikola and everybody from here.
Please provide corrections as needed....
