Dear brother!
First I have to tell you that we are all well thank God and we wish you the same, happiness and health. I received your letter and understood everything you wrote. You asked to write to you about interesting stuff there is nothing, girls you know got married and those younger you did not meet. Since you left some people in our village died, Martin Lacinkin and Luka Jaleskov. We had many illnesses this year but nobody from our village died. What are you writing about the situation here, when somebody would have 5000 dollars now when they are worth a lot, they could live well from interest and not do anything. When they would work they would have even more. I have drove off some part of the store to the house, when I would even 10 000 dinars my business would be good, but I started with 3000 dinars and you cannot work with it. Just not to look as a fool in the village. I had more money but I spent it on the house but it is still not as it should be I need at least 3000 dinars more. If you are planning to come home come while you are younger, when you grow older and you are not married then you are not to old anywhere. Dear brother as soon as you receive this letter write back and tell me if you are coming back or not. If you are coming back I can look for a girl for you if you didn’t find one there. Nothing else is new, greetings from everybody here, also from aunt and her family. Filip stays at home for six weeks and for three weeks he is in Split working.
Love your brother Mato.
